Safeguarding

Safeguarding Summary

Safeguarding Lead for Board of Trustees: Claire Murphy-Morgan ([email protected])

Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure during their time with us at Josephine & Jack Project.

Our statement of intent

  • The Josephine & Jack Project is committed to promoting equality of opportunity to all members of our community. It is every person’s right to live in safety and to be free from abuse, harm or fear of abuse by others

  • Abuse of an individual is a clear infringement of their human rights and freedoms. Our policies and procedures in place aim to ensure clear guidance on what to do if anyone within the JJP team is concerned about an individual or should an individual make a disclosure

  • When a situation is discovered in which someone reports, or is thought to be at risk of abuse, then JJP will cooperate with agencies to react quickly in a coordinated manner.

We will:

  • Ensure all Trustees, staff, JJP Course Leaders, course participants and volunteers are aware of and understand our safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Review our safeguarding policies and procedures on an annual basis
  • Provide up to date safeguarding training for all staff, Trustees, Course Leaders and volunteers
  • Make clear that members of staff have a responsibility to accept their personal involvement in the practical application of our policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all members of staff, Course Leaders and volunteers undergo an Enhanced DBS check
  • Ensure on-going liaison with appropriate agencies/coordinating with the relevant staff on any action when an incident is reported and in line with safeguarding policies
  • Provide support and information for members of staff, course leaders and volunteers with concern about abuse.
  • Provide links to relevant counselling and supportive agencies to any client, who is a survivor of abuse or has concerns about another individual.
  • Ensure all participants of JJP courses and projects are given accessible, up to date information about Safeguarding

We have two safeguarding policies:

  • Safeguarding Children and Young People
  • Safeguarding Adults at Risk

A copy of both policies can be made available on request, and we can also provide an Easy Read version. Please get get in touch with us.
